Just returned home from the new-premiere of this performance in the Festival des 7 Collines in Saint-Étienne, France.
This is a piece where the audience really gets to calm down, to enter the forest and to witness some beautiful, some funny and some touching moments in the local forest. I love rehearsing and performing this piece; it is so little about me and my skills and so much about the interaction between the three participants; the forest, the audience and us two performers. We are looking for new performance opportunities around the Finnish forests in the summer 2020 and also looking forward to performances in southern France in June 2020.

I’ve started learning and adapting Sade Kamppila’s role in this beautiful performance that happens in forests as a sort of a combination of a nature trail and a contemporary circus performance.
My first performances will be in summer 2019 but you can catch the performances with the original artists already 2nd September in Umeå, Sweden:

OPERAATIO PAULAHARJU

What an experience this theatre making trip to Finnish fell wilderness was!
The group consisted of 16 artists, mainly from theatre field but also from music, literature and dance, and myself coming with a circus background. Director-dramaturg-writer Juha Hurme lead the group with his long-term work partners Jouni Rissanen and Matti Rasi.
We drove through Kilpisjärvi in Finnish Lapland and were dropped somewhere on the road to Skibotn, about 10km north from the Finland-Norway border.
And we started the walk to Pihtsusjärvi where we would rehearse for about a week and perform one week. The walk there took three days with stops over night in half way through to Lossujärvi, then one night in Lossujärvi-lake and then on the third day – after a mindblowing walk through the Urtas-river valley and some pantless crossing-the-river -moments – arriving to the camp area by Pihtsusjärvi lake, some 6-8km walk from Finland’s highest point: Halti.
Not enough words to describe the place and experience but here’s some photos.
We didn’t have any telephone reception, nor electricity, so I left my devises home. What a bliss to be out of reach for the entire three weeks!
All photos by Antti Laukkarinen, my fellow actor.

Thank you for getting to be part of this!
